Farmers from Punjab and several other states are travelling to Delhi for a one-day rally against the proposed India–US Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said the Desh Bachao Morcha has called the protest at Kisan Ghat on 21 July. He alleged that the government has not consulted stakeholders before negotiating the agreement and demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi explain its details.
According to Pandher, farmers from Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are expected to join the protest.
