On June 12, 2025, 17 year old Aryan Asari was recording videos on his phone from the rooftop terrace of his home in Ahmedabad. At that moment, Air India Flight 171 had just taken off, bound for London.The Dreamliner 787-8 crashed before his eyes and burst into flames. His video began going viral. 241 passengers and crew died, with just one man surviving. Another 19 people on the ground were also killed. A year later, BBC Gujarati visited Aryan, who is now back at his home village, at his hometown to speak with him, to find out how much his life has changed, and what he had to say as he recalled those moments.
