US Congressman Brandon Gill has released a campaign ad pandering to his base, but that same base isn’t buying it. The new campaign ad shows Gill and his two children with the caption “You can call me any name you want. I just want my children to grow up in a country that they recognize.” The message is clear. Problem is, everyone knows who he’s married to: Danielle D’Souza, daughter of Dinesh D’Souza, perhaps one of the most famous conservative Indian-Americans.

While Gill has often rallied against being termed racist after saying things that are racist, he’s now being termed a grifter instead, after this latest grifting. His wife Danielle, meanwhile, has been forced to close X account after the backlash landed squarely on her, either for being Indian, or being married to a grifter.

This campaign probably isn’t going to win any votes.
