Sinister images of a man dressed as the Cat in the Hat have been causing hysteria in neighbourhoods across Ireland and the UK.

It’s prompted local police departments to reassure the public that the eerie vision of the Dr Seuss character loitering outside homes is not real, and in fact, artificially generated.
