As DK Shivakumar took oath as Karnataka Chief Minister, his daughter Aishwarya Shivakumar expressed gratitude to the people of the state and reflected on the responsibility that comes with leadership.

Calling herself a “proud daughter,” Aishwarya said her father has always taught that leadership is about responsibility, not power. She added that the responsibility has now increased “10 times or 100 times” as he takes charge of serving Karnataka.

Aishwarya also prayed that her father is blessed with strength, wisdom and integrity to fulfil his new role, saying, “It’s not about power, it’s about what you make of that power.”
