Desi Bling Is Super Problematic #ashortaday

Desi Bling is honestly one of the most frustrating yet fascinating reality shows to come out recently.
The show is dripping with luxury, diamonds, designer outfits, massive mansions… but beneath all that glamour is a deeply problematic reality.

One of the most shocking parts of the show is watching Binda massage her husband’s feet every single morning in the name of “tradition,” while the same husband is casually cheating on her all the time. And somehow, the show normalizes it so casually that it becomes uncomfortable to watch. The saddest part? Nobody around her seems genuinely shocked.

That’s what makes Desi Bling feel less like entertainment and more like a weirdly honest window into certain ultra-rich families where patriarchy still exists behind luxury handbags and private parties.

And honestly, many relationships on the show feel transactional. A lot of the women seem emotionally stuck with these men purely because of money, status, and lifestyle. It’s uncomfortable, messy, toxic… but also weirdly real.

But the BEST part of the show for me were the twins. Finally, two women who actually felt independent, self-made, confident, and emotionally aware. Every time they appeared onscreen, the energy completely changed. They brought ambition, personality, and authenticity into a show filled with performative wealth and problematic marriages.

What makes the show addictive is that it never feels fake polished. It exposes how ugly things can become when wealth, patriarchy, status, and emotional dependency all mix together.

Super problematic? Yes.
Difficult to stop watching? Also yes.
