The United Kingdom has strongly condemned reported missile attacks carried out by Iran on the Diego Garcia military base located in the Indian Ocean.

Diego Garcia, a joint US-UK military facility in the Chagos Islands, is a strategically important base located nearly 4,000 kilometers from Iran. Reports indicate that Iran launched two intermediate-range ballistic missiles targeting the base.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the missiles failed to achieve their intended targets—one reportedly malfunctioned mid-air, while the other was intercepted by a US naval vessel.

The UK criticized Iran, stating that its actions are contributing to regional instability and threatening international interests, including the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route.
