A drone hit the grounds of the Fairmont hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Saturday as Iranian forces carried out retaliatory strikes following a joint US-Israel assault on Iran.
Footage from Alex Bocquet shows a missile overhead followed by a large fire burning the entrance to the hotel, which is located on the Palm Jumeirah, an artificial tree-shaped island in Dubai. Separate video showed a drone impacting.
The UAE’s foreign ministry earlier said it had intercepted several Iranian missiles that targeted the country, and that an Asian man had been killed by falling missile debris in Abu Dhabi.
Authorities said the fire was brought under control, according to local news reports.
In Iran, state media said Iranian strikes had targeted US military installations in Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, in retaliation for the US-Israeli strikes on Tehran and other parts of Iran. https://abc7chicago.com/live-updates/iran-live-updates-trump-says-major-combat-operations-have-begun/18660347/
