12 और 13 सितंबर को नई दिल्ली के Bharat Mandapam में BRICS 18th Summit आयोजित होने जा रहा है, जिसकी मेजबानी India कर रहा है। आज BRICS में 11 देश—Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia और UAE—शामिल हैं। इसकी शुरुआत BRIC से हुई थी और 2006 में इसे formalize किया गया, जबकि 2009 में Russia के Yekaterinburg में पहला BRIC Summit हुआ। 2011 में South Africa के जुड़ने के बाद यह BRICS बना। BRICS का उद्देश्य Developing Countries की आवाज को मजबूत करना, IMF और World Bank Reforms, New Development Bank के माध्यम से infrastructure और sustainable development को बढ़ावा देना तथा Dollar Dependence कम करने के लिए local currency trade और alternative payment systems पर काम करना है। हालांकि India-China Tensions, Different Foreign Policies, China’s Economic Dominance और Consensus Building जैसी चुनौतियां भी मौजूद हैं। यह topic UPSC GS Paper-2 – International Relations के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। ❓Question: BRICS का पहला Summit किस देश में हुआ था? अपना जवाब Comment में जरूर बताइए।
