Activist Sonam Wangchuk was shifted to hospital after a 20-day hunger strike at Jantar Mantar. Delhi Police removed Wangchuk from the protest stage 48 hours before his planned march to Parliament.

Police said the move followed High Court orders and medical advice over his deteriorating health. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was also detained during the police action at Jantar Mantar.

Police appealed to protesters to vacate Jantar Mantar peacefully after Wangchuk was shifted. The 59-year-old remained on hunger strike, demanding the education minister’s resignation over the alleged NEET paper leak.
