😱16 Crore रुपये का Injection इस बच्ची को क्यूँ लगा?

Do you remember that donation wave on social media for the contribution of INR 16 crore which was to be used for injection to a toddler? But how can an injection cost this much of amount?
An Indian infant named ‘Vedika’ had a rare genetic disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This disease may get inherited by the next generation due to some issues in the genes. This rare disease causes a steady shrinkage in the muscles of kids resulting in the loss of muscle control. The child carrying this disease becomes unable to perform several activities on his own like respiration, sitting, walking, etc.
Most of the patients with this disease survive only up to the age of 2 years. This happens because the cost of the injection required for the treatment is INR 16 crores, which cannot be afforded by everyone.
However, the required amount was made available in the case of Vedika with the help of public donations. Vedika started showing recovery after getting a Zolgensma injection of worth 16 crore rupees on 15th June 2021. But after a few days, she was made hospitalized because of some respiration problem where she lost her life.
