A video purportedly showing a US F-15 fighter jet chasing what seems like Iranian Shahed drones over Iraqi skies has gone viral on social media. The footage, shared by several Iran-backed channels, showed the chase, followed by a large ground explosion and smoke plume.

The accounts sharing the video on X claimed the $1 million American F-15 aircraft “failed to intercept” at least two “cheap” $20,000 Iranian Shahed-136 drones, indicating a major escalation in the regional conflict.

The video is reportedly from an Iranian strike on a British engine oil company in Iraq’s Erbil, which caused a massive fire. So far, the United States or any of its allies has not confirmed the incident.
