Osama Bin Laden, the founder of al-Qaeda, is gaining attention on TikTok as a letter he wrote in 2002 titled “Letter to America” goes viral. The video, narrating al-Qaeda’s rationale for the 9/11 attacks, has amassed over 14 million views. Bin Laden’s letter addresses the issue of Palestine, stating it is occupied by Israel with American support. TikTok users are drawing connections between the letter and their opposition to the U.S. supporting Israel. The document, spanning a dozen pages, delves into the reasons behind al-Qaeda’s attack on the U.S. on September 11. Originally posted on the UK’s media group The Guardian’s website in 2002, the “Letter to America” was removed by The Guardian this week as it gained widespread attention on social media.
